Wu-Tang Clan’s home city is honoring the rap legends around the 30th anniversary of their debut album.

Wu-Tang Clan’s 1993 debut Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) turns 30 years old on November 9th. And one of the most legendary rap groups ever will receive a ton of honors from their hometown.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams will declare November 9th “Wu-Tang Day” in New York. In addition, the Empire State Building will light up in black and yellow after dusk! Lots of other Wu-Tang happenings are going down as well…

On Wu-Tang Day, Legacy Recordings released a special 7″ vinyl box set which includes a 60-page book of liner notes and a pack of 36 Chambers trading cards. News also recently broke about a Ghostface Killa action figure, as well as the new podcast ODB: A Son Unique, dedicated to the life of the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

Moving forward a few weeks, RZA will host #WuWednesdays on SiriusXM channel 43’s LL COOL J’s Rock The Bells starting November 29. All Wu-Tang Clan members will perform new and vintage songs, DJ mixes, interviews, and more. The first episode will highlight Wu-Tang’s memorable performance at SiriusXM’s Hip-Hop 50 celebration in Queens, New York, that went down on August 10.

There are some cool events back on Wu-Tang’s home turf as well. RZA performed a three night run of shows accompanied by an orchestra at New York City’s Gramercy Theatre from November 7-9. And a Lincoln Center theater will screen a new documentary A Wu-Tang Experience: Live At Red Rocks Amphitheatre on November 15.

RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard formed Wu-Tang Clan in Staten Island, New York, in 1992.
